Beschrijving

The 40th Squadron Search and Rescue of the Belgian Air Force had Sea Kings in service from 1975 to 2019. The order for five Westland Sea King MK48s was placed in 1974. The aircraft carried the registrations RS01 to RS05. All together, the five helicopters carried out 3,309 rescue operations, including bringing thirty people from the capsized ferry Harald of free Enterprise to safety in 1986.

This patch has a grey background with the type of helicopter in red text at the top. In the centre is a SAR logo and the aircraft itself (the RS02). At the bottom a Belgian flag and the years of service of this aircraft (1975 – 2019).

Die 40. Such- und Rettungsstaffel der belgischen Luftwaffe hatte von 1975 bis 2019 Sea Kings im Einsatz. Der Auftrag für fünf Westland Sea King MK48 wurde 1974 erteilt. Die Flugzeuge trugen die Registrierungen RS01 bis RS05. Insgesamt haben die fünf Hubschrauber 3.309 Rettungseinsätze durchgeführt, darunter 1986 die Rettung von dreißig Personen von der gekenterten Fähre Harald of free Enterprise.

Dieser Aufnäher hat einen grauen Hintergrund mit dem Hubschraubertyp in roter Schrift am oberen Rand. In der Mitte befindet sich ein SAR-Logo und das Flugzeug selbst (die RS02). Unten eine belgische Flagge und die Dienstjahre des Flugzeugs (1975 – 2019).
